The Glebe Bar.

99 Glebe Street corner of 63 Albert Street ( McAslin Street.)

This old pubs dates back to the 1870s which was owned by John Ballantyne a wine & spirit merchant. Well-known Glasgow publican Thomas Logan took over the pub in the late 1800s, he also owned a pub at the corner of East Crawford Street and Glenpark Street.

The licence was transferred to James Kemp in 1901, he paid an annual rent of £65. James continued to serve the locals here until after the First World War.

David Dunbar was running the pub in the 1930s and after his death his wife Elizabeth took control of the business.

The last owner of the old Glebe Bar was Jack Brown jun., many will still remember him. Do you or did you drink in this pub? if so please get in touch.
