George Hotel.

London Hotel, at the head of Buchanan Street was acquired by Mr Colquhoun in 1887. The hotel was built at the beginning of the 1800s. When Mr Colquhoun passed away his widow was granted a transfer of the licence, she also had a practical knowledge of the hotel business, having served in various capacities in several of the best hotels of the West of Scotland. The London Hotel had twenty-four apartments, a commodious smoking-room and one of the best equipped billiard-rooms in the city. The bar accommodation was not large or fancy, in-fact it was very small and basic and sold good quality drink.
