Formerly Stuarts Restaurant, Michael Kearns took over the business in 1962 and turned it into the Gazelle public house. He refurbished the premises in 1964, a feature of the lounge was the ocelote frontage of the bar itself with inset lighting and a native carved gazelle from Africa.
